Requirements

  • Ability to process work orders, prioritize orders, and maintain inventory accuracy using system software (scanning, sorting, storing, moving freight)
  • Skills in producing corrective eyewear in Finish Department (tracing, blocking, first inspection, lens production, edging, mounting lenses, assembling eyewear, cosmetic add-ons like polish and tint)
  • Skills in producing corrective eyewear in Surface Department (layout, taping, blocking, creating lens curvature/thickness per prescription, lens grinding, applying hard coating, preparing for add-ons like tint and no glare)
  • Ability to maintain quality standards by reviewing work tickets, adhering to standard operating procedures, and evaluating produced work
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with associates and vendors
  • Teamwork abilities: build relationships, communicate positively, mentor others, recognize contributions

Responsibilities

  • Ensure facility productivity in Inventory Department by processing work orders to workload and prioritizing orders
  • Maintain quality, accuracy, and integrity of inventory by scanning product in/out, sorting/placing/storing freight or work orders, and moving freight manually
  • Produce and manufacture corrective eyewear in Finish Department (prepare lenses: tracing, blocking, inspection; produce lenses; edge and mount in frames; assemble eyewear; complete cosmetic add-ons)
  • Produce and manufacture corrective eyewear in Surface Department (prepare lenses: layout, taping, blocking, curvature/thickness per prescription; grind lenses; apply hard coating; prepare for add-ons)
  • Maintain quality standards by reviewing/analyzing work tickets, adhering to procedures, and evaluating work
  • Communicate with Walmart associates and vendors verbally or in writing
  • Embrace differences, foster belonging, create opportunities for associates, attract talent
  • Work as a team, build trusting relationships, communicate to motivate/influence
