Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent level of education
  • Proven experience on extrusion processes and techniques
  • Mechanical aptitude or enthusiasm to learn and develop skills in a hands-on environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to be a valuable team player
  • Basic understanding of IT such as MS Office and desire to learn new software
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Multi-line competent and willing to flex when required
  • Tapeline, coverline, and baseline competent (will consider baseline and tapeline competent candidates)
  • Able to work a consistent shift that balances life and family commitments
  • Participate in two continuous competency units per year

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and overseeing the extrusion, tapeline cover line process to ensure correct operational settings and prevent machine stoppages
  • Fielding operator inquiries from front line employees
  • Performing machine set-up duties to prepare and maintain products and materials according to production schedule
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings to ensure quality standards of the product
  • Conducting inspections and assisting in maintaining production logs to review quality, record, and report issues
  • Participating in TPM activities for operational lines
  • Participating in problem-solving activities including problem-solving board, Kaizen Blitz, and assisting in building PowerPoint decks to present findings
  • Participating in creating and maintaining work instructions and COIs
  • Participating in COPQ and cost out initiatives
  • Assisting in mentoring SSE and contingent workers
  • Maintaining stock of consumables
  • Maintaining 5S standards when performing tasks and operating motorized equipment to ensure safety and compliance
