Responsibilities
Supervise a team of Lead Operators, Operators and/or General Laborers to ensure efficient landfill operation
Ensure adherence to fill sequencing plans, achieve density goals, and operate the landfill consistent with applicable permits
Work with Operations Manager and General Manager to implement tactical initiatives for functional excellence and budget achievement
Ensure adherence to all accident prevention programs and compliance with safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics, and other standards
Execute and deliver on Safety, Customer Experience, and Efficiency while supporting employee engagement culture
Understand and provide leadership to achieve and communicate safety goals and objectives; remove unsafe conditions
Partner with maintenance department to ensure equipment is in working order and complies with safety standards
Oversee effective safety and accident prevention programs to prevent accidents and injuries; maintain loss control and safety program
Engage employees in safety culture through personal commitment and outreach
Provide service meeting or exceeding customer expectations; resolve unusual requests, breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely communications
Interact with customers to solve issues and improve customer experience; serve as positive company representative
Establish productivity goals, ensure adherence to operating standards, and manage labor hours and disposal expenses per plans
Execute operational plans to achieve or exceed budgeted goals; support service delivery, maintenance, and fleet quality
Create collaborative, communicative team environment; drive employee engagement
