Requirements

Candidates must be a GPhC-registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification and have experience in a clinical setting. Knowledge of cannabis-based medicines (CBPM) or a willingness to undergo specialised training is necessary. Excellent communication and counselling skills, strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, and a proactive, patient-focused approach to care are also required.

Responsibilities

As an On-Site Clinical Pharmacist, you will clinically check and review CBPM prescriptions for safety and accuracy. You will prescribe medicines as an Independent Prescriber, tailoring treatments to individual patient needs. Providing expert guidance to prescribers and patients on treatment options, maintaining accurate patient records in line with GPhC standards, and supporting the dispensary team by handling complex clinical queries are key responsibilities. Additionally, you will deliver education and training on CBPM to patients, clinicians, and staff, and collaborate with the wider team to streamline processes and improve outcomes.
