Requirements

The Observability Response & Reliability Technician should be proficient with source control technologies like Git and Subversion, and experienced in using configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Chef. A commitment to following strict procedural guidelines for application deployments and operating system patching is required, along with participation in a 24/7 on-call support rotation for critical systems. The candidate must maintain high standards of precision and quality in all procedural tasks, professionally engage in incident response, and adhere strictly to NetSpend procedures for data management. A foundational understanding of Linux operating systems is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Observability Response & Reliability Technician will use infrastructure-as-code and configuration management platforms to complete assignments, and provide support for the Ouro processing environment. This role involves overseeing software component installations and deployments with robust monitoring in a 24/7 Production Environment, and administering both Linux and Windows operating systems. The technician will maintain scripts in various languages including Shell, Perl, Python, and Ruby, and use and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitLab or Jenkins. Responsibilities also include creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for deployment and monitoring protocols, managing file transfers and enterprise scheduling, and participating in Quarterly DR and HA testing.
