Requirements

Licensed and qualified Physician Assistant (PA) to practice in the state based on job assignment (Upon Hire)
Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) - US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration State and federal based on state of practice (Upon Hire)
Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) (Upon Hire)
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Ability to work rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, 80 hours every 2 weeks, occasional weekends, holidays, and call (rotating among APP group)

Responsibilities

Serve as first assist in OR
Demonstrate expertise as practitioner, consultant, educator, and health professional
Improve clinical and cost outcomes for key patient populations through collaboration with physicians and staff and participation in strategic initiatives
Assure competent and ethical care of patients and families
Share responsibilities with supervising physician and clinic staff for customer-focused, nursing and medically appropriate patient assessment, care plan development and implementation, follow-up to outcomes, and cost-effective delivery of services
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice
Provide medical services and health education to patients and family members; contribute to health education of individuals and groups to increase motivation for self-care
Consult and collaborate with physician in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients
Perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to written, approved protocols and appropriate licensing and administrative authorities
Interpret information from diagnostic process and consult with physician on abnormal findings to establish plan of care
Assure appropriate referrals for patients
Provide quality care demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices; recognize and react to environmental safety factors; provide patient instruction on environment of care and safety standards
Contribute to development and attainment of physician practice goals
Practice according to written, approved protocols and appropriate licensing and administrative authorities; understand, apply, and support practice policies, procedures, goals, and standards
Maintain patient records and accurate information
