Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum (preferred for top candidates)
  • Extensive engineering experience, in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Electronics systems, hardware, or software development experience
  • Experience with the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Supervisory and global team leadership experience
  • Demonstrated strong technical and analytical skills
  • Program Management: Knowledge of policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects to achieve objectives
  • Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques; ability to create and support an environment that meets quality goals
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas accurately
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving problems; ability to apply to diverse situations
  • Products and Services: Knowledge of major products and services; ability to apply knowledge appropriately
  • Ability to work full-time at the Mossville, IL office

Responsibilities

  • Provide NPI leadership to the Information Platform teams
  • Manage program timelines, budget, and quality for Information Product Platforms
  • Provide people leadership for a team of 4 Caterpillar team members
  • Provide technical leadership for a team of about 20 Caterpillar and Agency software developers
  • Responsible for Information Platform Gateway Reviews & Design Reviews
  • Develop & communicate Information Platform timelines
  • Accountable for developing and managing Information Platform Life Time Estimates
  • Meet Information Platform Quality Commitments
  • Collaborate with and communicate results to the Machine & Engine Systems teams
  • Work with members of the Senior Technology Leadership Forum (STLF) to prioritize information related projects
  • Work with Chief Engineers, Tech Stewards, NPI Managers, Clients, and Process Partners to develop roadmaps and strategies for Information Platforms
  • Interact regularly with system, hardware, and software teams and managers to collaborate on delivery
