Requirements

  • High School Education or GED preferred
  • A minimum of one-year warehouse experience preferred
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to read batch labels
  • Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Must be team oriented and able to get along with others
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures of 100+ degrees and below freezing
  • Availability for night schedule: Sunday 5:00pm until finish, Monday-Thursday 6:00pm until finish, Friday 7:00pm until finish (may include holidays, weekends, overtime)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the quality of pallet builds and proper preparation for shipment to safeguard product from damage during loading and in transit
  • Keep wrapping machines clean and in good operational condition; prevent excess shrink wrap buildup around guide wheel
  • Avoid cutting shrink wrap from rollers using a box cutter or placing stickers on equipment
  • Wipe down equipment at end of shift each day
  • Follow all safety work practices and maintain clean and orderly dock area
  • Prepare pallets for shipping, including proper pallet build, placement of protective materials (produce blankets, slip sheets), and quality wrapping
  • Confirm condition of product prior to loading, including cases and breakers
  • Determine when produce blankets are no longer usable and alert Lead or Supervisor; dispose of soiled cooler blankets
  • Gather slip sheets and secure near wrapping stations for use during wrapping and inspection
  • Ensure work area is free of debris
  • Verify header labels are in upper right-hand corner for loaders
  • Assist loaders by unloading trailers staged in doors (pallets, blankets, straps, debris); raise door, lock trailer to dock, lower dock plate
