Responsibilities

  • Help manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Take direction from Pharmacy Manager and oversee pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap
  • Strengthen pharmacy performance through coaching, follow-up, and feedback to Pharmacy Manager
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing team on workflows and safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, resolving issues, and coaching team on compassionate care
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to immunize
  • Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, focusing on cold chain products
  • Ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
  • Partner with Pharmacy Manager on scheduling if directed
  • Maintain relevant skills through trainings and CMEs
  • Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through clinical services like testing and prescribing (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception)
