Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Custodial services or relevant experience, preferred
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety procedures
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organization skills to maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies and consumables
  • Self-starter and able to perform with minimal or no supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, crawl, stand for long periods of time, work with arms extended above the body, work outdoors during inclement weather, and see and hear sufficiently to perform duties safely

Responsibilities

  • Clean and supervise the cleaning of buildings, including classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, gymnasium, media center, locker rooms, auditoriums, lobbies, lounges, corridors, elevators, stairways, storage areas, and other workspaces (e.g., removing trash, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, dusting, buffing, cleaning carpets, washing windows, scrubbing floors and ceilings, sanitizing restrooms)
  • Meet all local, state, and federal sanitation guidelines
  • Conduct emergency cleanup service
  • Secure campus grounds at all times
  • Perform minor maintenance repairs and building/facility modifications (e.g., repairing, moving, or assembling furniture; repairing custodial equipment; touch-up or cover-up painting; hanging teaching aids)
  • Submit maintenance requests for repairs and modification requests
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment for special events or meetings
  • Assist with staff or outside groups using the building for programs, special events, or assemblies (e.g., set up and tear down of tables, chairs, and audiovisual equipment; assist with training users on equipment; troubleshoot equipment problems; lock/unlock areas)
  • Maintain accurate files and records, and prepare reports as needed
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions
  • Work Monday to Friday, 3:00pm - 11:00pm
