Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills. They should have the ability to work effectively in a team, multitask, prioritize workflow, and complete projects under tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail, good judgment, and basic technical skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and web applications are essential. Reliability, punctuality, a courteous and professional phone manner, and a professional demeanor are required. Flexibility with scheduling is also necessary, and the company will not sponsor new applicants for employment authorization.

Responsibilities

The Newsroom Editor will accurately and efficiently prepare and transmit news releases over Business Wire's circuits. Responsibilities include formatting, editing, and proofreading press releases, coding releases for distribution, and suggesting beneficial distribution circuits to clients. Editors will contact clients regarding potential errors, assess the authenticity of orders, and escalate problematic content. They will monitor incoming orders for timely handling, ensure successful transmission of content, and assist other Newsroom teams with overflow orders. Additional duties involve performing shift-change tasks, maintaining knowledge of Business Wire products and policies, answering client questions about distribution options, guiding clients through the order submission process, providing membership information, and setting up new accounts. Collaboration with sales and other departments, communicating technical issues, authorizing credit card payments, and submitting the daily distribution report are also key responsibilities.
