Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution, and a minimum of 4 years of relevant technical experience. They should have experience maintaining operating systems such as Solaris, Linux, Windows operating systems, and VMware, along with experience configuring and installing fiber and ethernet networks and conducting vulnerability assessments. A CompTIA Sec+ certification and one of the following certifications: SecurityX / CASP+, CCISO, CCSP, CISM, CISSO, CISSP, or GSLC are required. Furthermore, a TS/SCI clearance and SAP clearance are necessary.

Responsibilities

The Network Operations Engineer II will ensure the successful installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of all classified and unclassified networks and system management tools. They will establish network architecture, networking, and patch capabilities while overseeing the maintenance of security, backup, and redundancy strategies in accordance with government and accreditation standards. This includes troubleshooting and resolving advanced application, hardware, and network anomalies, coordinating with external agencies on WAN issues, installing and configuring HOSP equipment, providing recommendations on maintenance levels, and coordinating vendor maintenance contracts. Additionally, the role involves contributing to planning, assessment, risk analysis, and certification activities, generating relevant documentation, and interfacing with HQ USSPACECOM stakeholders.
