Requirements

Seasoned individual contributor with autonomy to work independently under limited supervision
Ability to determine and develop approaches to solutions for difficult problems requiring understanding of multiple issues, job areas, or specialties
Experience in technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology and therapies
Specialized knowledge and skills in supplier quality engineering, including GMP, quality standards, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements
Capability to coach, review work of lower-level specialists, mentor colleagues, and direct work of others
Skills in project management, formulating/delivering/managing projects, and achieving results with stakeholders
Strong communication skills to exchange information with senior internal/external customers and vendors, influence decision-making, and build relationships/consensus
Ability to provide in-depth analysis, recommendations on process improvements, and evaluate suppliers' internal functions

Responsibilities

Ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services
Qualify suppliers according to company standards and administer Certified Supplier Program for receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness
Monitor parts from acquisition through manufacturing cycle, communicate, and resolve supplier-related problems
Develop and prioritize auditing schedule to ensure designated suppliers meet GMP and quality standards regularly
Evaluate suppliers' internal functions, assess overall performance, and provide feedback
Provide Pre-Market Quality Engineering support to New Product Development (NPD), partnering with Component Engineering and Post-Market Supplier Quality Teams
Deliver technical guidance and quality compliance for Supplier Quality engagement throughout NPD lifecycle on newly qualified parts
Implement strategies for driving product quality, continuous improvement, and qualification per standards/requirements
Collaborate with Component Engineers on Product Acceptance Sampling Strategy, Approved Supplier List, Supplier Owned Quality, and Control Plans for new products
Define Receiving Inspection requirements and validate associated test methods for internal Medtronic Test Methods
Formulate, deliver, and/or manage assigned projects; work with stakeholders to achieve results
Coach/review lower-level specialists, provide guidance/training, and manage projects/processes
Contribute to work group objectives through relationships and consensus; make process/system/product improvements
