Requirements

Associate's or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school, or hospital-based Radiologic Technology Program
Radiography (R) certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire
Less than 1 year of experience
Thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures, physiology, and human anatomy
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
Competency with IV injections for administration of IV contrast media
Familiarity with lab data results, IV Access Systems/Restrictions

Maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

Prepare patients and adjust equipment for performing MRI; position and instruct patients regarding procedures
Perform MRI procedures accurately and efficiently according to established standards
Coordinate daily schedules for efficiency and assess exam completion
Assist with staff/student on-the-job training and orientation; may assist in preparing for and conducting MRI classes
Assist with collection and maintenance of records for Radiology Department, Quality Assurance, Joint Commission, OSHA, or legal requirements
Maintain all records/reports required for MRI area (patient records, volume records, equipment records)
Provide detailed reports to management as requested
Consult with radiologist, physicians, and other patient-care personnel on exam details and specialized protocols
Research lab data results, monitor injection of contrast material and patient condition throughout the exam
