Position Overview

Wealthsimple is seeking a licensed Mortgage Broker to join our team. Reporting to the Principal Broker, this role is responsible for connecting clients with mortgage solutions and driving business growth. No pre-existing book of business is required. We are looking for a candidate with a builder mindset, who is detail-oriented, action-oriented, and proactive. The ideal candidate owns their role, continuously helps identify ways to improve processes and controls while mitigating risk, manages time well, stays on top of deliverables, and has the potential to grow with the company.


Requirements

  • Must be a licensed mortgage broker in at least 1 Canadian province.
  • Experience in lending products or other sales functions is a strong plus.
  • Mortgage Guru: Passion for mortgage brokering, guiding clients through their mortgage journey, and prioritizing client experience.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to navigate uncertainty, bring clarity to ambiguity, and figure out what's going on without waiting for a playbook.
  • Proactive Action Oriented: Acts without being told what to do, takes full ownership of work, and proactively seeks help and input to provide well-supported solutions.
  • Efficiency: Produces significant output with minimum wasted effort; finds the path of least resistance to problem definition, solution, and execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication: Speaks plainly and truthfully. Communicates complex ideas in a simple and easy-to-understand way for any audience.
  • Honesty/integrity: Does not cut corners; does what is right, not what is politically expedient.
  • Relevant experience: Demonstrated success in a commission-based sales role, preferably within the mortgage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert advice, and guiding clients through the mortgage process.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging industry knowledge.
  • Partner with Wealthsimple's legal, compliance, product, and marketing teams to ensure all activities align with regulatory requirements and company objectives.
  • Stay informed about regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks.
  • Track and analyze sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth.

Compensation

  • This is a commission-based role, offering substantial earning potential.
