Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree/technical school, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent preferred
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience and five (5) years in a plastics manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong computer skills including all Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of production planning processes
  • Ability to track expenses and compile budget reports
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation
  • Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
  • Must be PC literate with basic knowledge of Word Processing, Database, Spreadsheet, and Software applications
  • Experience with Just-In-Time (JIT), Kanban, ISO, or other workflow concepts preferred

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, selects, orients, and trains employees; develops personal growth through cross-training, goal setting, monitoring, and coaching
  • Directly supervises all production employees
  • Provides leadership by coaching and mentoring hourly personnel to achieve quality standards, meet productivity goals, solve problems, and generate/implement continuous improvement ideas
  • Promotes Toro’s values and ethics; responsible for creating an environment of high ethical standards, trust, and respect
  • Complies with Company and EH&S policies and procedures; responsible for practicing, promoting, and implementing all Safety guidelines
  • Assures efficient utilization of material and headcount resources
  • Controls labor and production costs according to company standards
  • Optimizes Molding cycle times to comply with Engineering standards, documenting changes on process sheets
  • Supervises employees within the Molding Department to safely and efficiently produce products while meeting all quality and productivity organizational objectives
