Requirements
- Ability to provide immediate mobile response to individuals experiencing mental health crises in Multnomah County
- Ability to triage mental health crisis calls from the Multnomah County Call Center and law enforcement agencies
- Ability to identify and assess risk factors for harm to self or others in the client’s psycho-social context via interview and collateral information
- Ability to articulate potential outcomes of interventions, discuss risks and benefits, and formulate least intrusive and most supportive actions
- Ability to initiate involuntary transport holds for individuals at risk of harm following County guidelines
- Ability to coordinate responses with community agencies and service providers
- Ability to provide assessment dispositions to treatment providers and emergency departments
- Ability to assess personal safety and request law enforcement support as appropriate
- Ability to collaborate with law enforcement to determine intervention risks and develop crisis approach plans
- Ability to provide information and facilitate linkage to mental health treatment and social services
- Ability to consult with teammates, supervisors, program managers, and medical directors
- Ability to operate in ambiguous and frequently changing work environments
- Ability to respect client rights, demonstrate professional boundaries and ethics
- Ability to adhere to mandatory abuse reporting laws and HIPAA requirements

Responsibilities
- Provide mobile crisis response, risk assessment, and crisis stabilization planning for adults and children in Multnomah County
- Work as part of a team using a trauma-informed, strength-based perspective in concert with Multnomah County’s Acute Care Continuum
- Collaborate with mental health/physical health providers, police, emergency departments, schools, and social service agencies to ensure optimal treatment in a Trauma Informed Care environment
- Triage incoming mental health crisis calls
- Assess risks and formulate interventions
- Initiate involuntary holds as needed
- Coordinate with community partners
- Provide dispositions to providers and departments
- Assess safety and involve law enforcement
- Collaborate on intervention plans with law enforcement
- Link clients to services
- Consult with team and leadership
- Maintain professional ethics and boundaries
- Comply with reporting laws and HIPAA
