Valid Ontario Millwright Mechanic License
Exposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls, and welding/cutting
Preferably 5-8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read mechanical drawings
Ability to work shifts, extended hours, and weekends
Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with other trades and operators

Responsibilities

Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic equipment, conveyor systems, elevators, storage tanks, bins, internal gear pumps, positive displacement pumps, steam boilers, and hot oil heaters
Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions
Troubleshoot industrial equipment
Inspect and perform data collection using precision measuring and testing instruments
Remove, perform internal inspection, dismantle, rebuild, and reassemble asset components using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools
Create hand sketches of assemblies and understand dimensional drawings, bills of materials, and equipment service manuals
Inspect and assess wear and remaining useful life of power transmission components (e.g., sprockets, chains, couplings, drives, rolls, pulleys, bearings) using vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, levels, plumb bobs, strobe lights, laser alignment kits, and other precision instruments
Fabricate repair parts using machine shop equipment such as lathe, drill press, milling machine, and grinders
Use Maximo or similar computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery
Apply knowledge of condition monitoring techniques (e.g., vibration and ultrasound analysis, precision lubrication) if applicable
Work as a team with other trades people, operators, and contractors
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures, rules, and regulations
