High School diploma or equivalent
Must be 18 years or older
Current Driver's license in good standing (preferred)
Pass pre-employment background and drug screen
Obtain American Heart Association CPR certification within 30 days of hire
Complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training within 60 days of hire
Complete Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) trainings within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living, interact with patients, attend to patient needs, and help in crisis intervention as needed
Transport patients to and from appointments, clinics, laboratories, and/or treatments as appropriate
Facilitate on-the-job training for new and existing Mental Health Technician (MHT) team members
Assist in providing therapeutic patient care in group or one-to-one settings
Respond to emergency and/or crisis situations and support visitor safety
Monitor safety of patients and environment, including infection control standards
Actively observe, monitor, and record patient behavior and activities, including meals and food intake
Ensure safety and accurate location of patients at all times, including milieu management
Report any changes in patient condition or safety to the treatment team
Orient and educate patients upon admission and document as required
Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining knowledge of department processes/protocols/procedures, pursuing self-directed learning/continuing education, and participating on committees/task forces/work groups
