Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Current Driver's license in good standing (preferred)
  • Pass pre-employment background and drug screen
  • Obtain American Heart Association CPR certification within 30 days of hire
  • Complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) training within 60 days of hire
  • Complete Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) trainings within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, interact with patients, attend to patient needs, and help in crisis intervention as needed
  • Transport patients to and from appointments, clinics, laboratories, and/or treatments as appropriate
  • Facilitate on-the-job training for new and existing Mental Health Technician (MHT) team members
  • Assist in providing therapeutic patient care in group or one-to-one settings
  • Respond to emergency and/or crisis situations and support visitor safety
  • Monitor safety of patients and environment, including infection control standards
  • Actively observe, monitor, and record patient behavior and activities, including meals and food intake
  • Ensure safety and accurate location of patients at all times, including milieu management
  • Report any changes in patient condition or safety to the treatment team
  • Orient and educate patients upon admission and document as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining knowledge of department processes/protocols/procedures, pursuing self-directed learning/continuing education, and participating on committees/task forces/work groups
