The Medical Director is a key member of the Clinical Leadership team, overseeing clinical care, professional development, and practice administration for the Psychiatry team. This role focuses on improving care quality, developing a high-functioning team, driving cross-functional work streams to enhance efficiency, and shaping a strategic vision for care evolution within Included Health. The goal is to raise the standard of health care for everyone. The position requires a detail-oriented and operationally-minded clinician leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, leads with empathy, and is passionate about driving systems-level change. The role dedicates 10% of time to clinical care and 90% of time to administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly evaluate systems, tools, and processes to ensure Psychiatrists can efficiently and effectively provide care.
  • Provide strategic leadership to support growth and innovation on the Psychiatry team and within the Clinical organization.
  • Manage cross-functional projects to drive results.
  • Partner closely with the Quality team to enhance clinical care, monitor outcomes, and support clinician professional development.
  • Manage clinician escalations, quality concerns, and compliance issues as they arise.
  • Support strategic relationships with key clients as assigned.
  • Identify a communications strategy to ensure Psychiatrists are well-informed and able to effectively provide care on the platform.
  • Interview, onboard, and train Psychiatrists.
  • Participate in external facing activities such as webinars or conferences when required.
  • Dedicate approximately 16 hours per month to providing clinical care.
  • Manage direct reports, including assigned clinicians and the Psychiatry Program Manager.
  • Provide clinical consultation and support professional development efforts.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Psychiatry within and external to Included Health, as required.
  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making.
