Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and have demonstrated ability in taking patient vitals, injection/immunization procedures, charting and documentation, exam room preparation, infectious waste handling, sterile techniques and routine lab procedures and collection.
The Medical Assistant will prepare exam rooms for patient use by cleaning and stocking, escort patients to rooms and assess needs, record patient information and vital signs, assist physicians with procedures, prepare specimens for lab analysis, schedule diagnostic tests and procedures, facilitate referrals to other physicians, contact external sources for results, pre-certify medications and referrals, maintain inventory of drugs and supplies, disinfect areas, and communicate with physicians and office manager regarding patient care and practice improvement.
