Requirements

3–5 years of experience in mechanical construction or facility operations within data centers, industrial sites, hospitals, or other high-availability environments
Experienced and driven leader capable of overseeing mechanical systems installation and commissioning for a high-performance AI Data Center
Hands-on leadership skills to lead mechanical contractors and ensure proper execution of HVAC and liquid cooling systems
Willingness to work a rotating schedule up to 12-hour shifts, including nights/weekends or on-call shifts as needed
Ability to thrive in a culture of builders and overachievers, embracing high performance, transparent feedback, and a mission-first approach

Responsibilities

Supervise the on-site installation of all mechanical systems, including HVAC and chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, liquid cooling loops for high-density compute, pumps, valves, piping, and associated infrastructure
Ensure all systems are installed in accordance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.)
Track and report daily progress, identify installation issues early, and coordinate resolution with contractors and engineering teams
Assist in functional testing and commissioning of mechanical systems
Participate in Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and ensure mechanical readiness for AI server deployment
Verify system performance under various load conditions to meet AI data center operational thresholds
Enforce site safety standards and ensure contractor compliance with OSHA, company safety protocols, and permit systems
Conduct mechanical quality checks and inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet specifications
Manage redlines, punch lists, and close-out documentation for mechanical scope
Coordinate work with general contractors, HVAC specialists, and other trades (electrical, IT, fire protection) to resolve spatial conflicts and ensure schedule alignment
Oversee delivery and staging of mechanical equipment and materials
