  • Technical/Engineering Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of demonstrated applicable experience (or Master’s degree with 3 years), including management of direct reports in a technical/engineering environment
  • Experience in specification and design of manufacturing equipment (manual and automated)
  • Experience leading technical engineering efforts through equipment design and development projects
  • Experience using critical metrics for measuring and improving personal engineering work
  • Experience contributing to project teams and managing individual effort across multiple projects
  • Experience with engineering tools and methods such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, and statistical analysis
  • Design and implementation of automated processes for high-mix/low-volume production (desired)
  • Design to applicable international standards (e.g., ISO, CE, FDA) (desired)
  • Proficient in MS Office and SolidWorks/PDM (or equivalent)
  • Proficient in technical writing, including authoring engineering protocols, reports, and procedures
  • Medical Device/Biopharmaceutical manufacturing (GMP, FDA, ISO 13485) experience (desired)
  • Self-motivated with good problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills
  • Self-starter with demonstrated history of continuous improvement and drive for results

Responsibilities

  • Develop new manufacturing equipment that supports the global network of Thermo Fisher Scientific SUD manufacturing sites
  • Ensure design quality, safety, and delivery to equipment requirements and standards
  • Specify and design new manufacturing equipment
  • Design improvements to existing equipment to improve productivity, capacity, cost reduction, and efficiency
  • Ensure the highest levels of quality and efficiency in work
