Requirements

Technical/Engineering Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of demonstrated applicable experience (or Master’s degree with 3 years), including management of direct reports in a technical/engineering environment
Experience in specification and design of manufacturing equipment (manual and automated)
Experience leading technical engineering efforts through equipment design and development projects
Experience using critical metrics for measuring and improving personal engineering work
Experience contributing to project teams and managing individual effort across multiple projects
Experience with engineering tools and methods such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, and statistical analysis
Design and implementation of automated processes for high-mix/low-volume production (desired)
Design to applicable international standards (e.g., ISO, CE, FDA) (desired)
Proficient in MS Office and SolidWorks/PDM (or equivalent)
Proficient in technical writing, including authoring engineering protocols, reports, and procedures
Medical Device/Biopharmaceutical manufacturing (GMP, FDA, ISO 13485) experience (desired)
Self-motivated with good problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills
Self-starter with demonstrated history of continuous improvement and drive for results

Responsibilities

Develop new manufacturing equipment that supports the global network of Thermo Fisher Scientific SUD manufacturing sites
Ensure design quality, safety, and delivery to equipment requirements and standards
Specify and design new manufacturing equipment
Design improvements to existing equipment to improve productivity, capacity, cost reduction, and efficiency
Ensure the highest levels of quality and efficiency in work
