Requirements

  • Must be available to work any shift (1st: M-F 7a-3:30p; 2nd: M-F 4p-11:30p; 3rd: Sun-Th 11p-7:30a)
  • Ability to operate manual or power drive material handling equipment safely and in an orderly manner
  • Ability to perform minor mechanical repairs to material handling equipment
  • Ability to use CRT terminal to record material information
  • Ability to count or weigh parts for verification and inventory accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment to move parts, finished goods, and miscellaneous items within the plant and to outside locations
  • Receive, store, and direct distribution of all materials within the plant, including record maintenance and verification of counts in controlled locations
  • Operate the shredder/baler machine and supporting equipment
  • Receive and move parts from outside sources, stage them in the warehouse, check incoming parts by description, purchase order date, and counts (via weight or physical count), sign for shipments, record discrepancies or damage, prepare documentation, and deliver parts to proper locations
  • Issue, direct, and store parts in controlled locations and shop based on supervisor instructions, preparing necessary documentation for records (part number, description, count, storage locations)
  • Ensure count accuracy of parts moved between locations
  • Take physical inventory of parts by counting or weighing to verify against inventory control records
  • Report operating deficiencies of material handling equipment to Material Handling Supervisor
