Requirements

Forklift/Mule/PIT experience preferred, but not required, as training and certification are provided - required to become forklift certified within 30 days of starting position
Basic computer skills to navigate systems and perform data entry
Experience with inventory control methods preferred
Ability to record information using company-provided forms and procedures
Ability to accurately perform math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
Ability to report to work as scheduled and work scheduled hours to meet job expectations, have flexibility to work other jobs, as needed, and work weekends and overtime, as needed
Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicate effectively with all team members and management
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
Ability to identify, act with a sense of urgency, and resolve problems/inconsistencies, getting help from management or others, as needed
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net/beard guard, steel-toed boots, and gloves
Must be willing and able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 60 lbs. below the waist, at the waist level, and above the shoulder level
Must be willing and able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach above, below, and at shoulder level
Must be willing and able to use both arms/hands and legs/feet to operate forklifts or electric pallet and hand jacks
Must be willing and able to work while standing or walking on hard floors for a period of up to 8-10 hours/day
Must be willing and able to climb up and down stairs/ladders

Responsibilities

Loads and ships goods, receives and unloads goods
Maintains packaging materials on storage trailers
Operates electric or hand jacks, and drives both sit-down and stand-up styles of forklifts
Manually changes forklift batteries
Performs daily safety inspection of the forklift and reports any problems to the supervisor
Keeps the area and floor clean, including the cooler and shipping docks
Performs other jobs within the department and provides back-up/breaks to the line puller when necessary
Rotates to other jobs in other departments, if needed
Accurately completes paperwork and Safety Chain entries
Uses EIM handheld and software to ship and receive goods
Responsible for safety, including but not limited to personal safety and food safety
Complies with all company and USDA policies/guidelines and reports known or suspected violations
Attends monthly and annual required training (e.g., Safety, HACCP, HR topics, LOTO, PIT)
Performs other duties, as assigned
