Requirements
- Associate degree or 5+ years of industry experience
- 2+ years of experience in a related field such as professional sales, account management, marketing, business management, customer service or project management
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a personal vehicle to visit contractor and customer sites
- Ability to travel locally, primarily in northern Indiana
- Ability to work out of your home during the times you are not out in the field working with contractors
- Background in construction, HVAC, mechanical, building controls, utility Demand Side Management (DSM), energy efficiency design, or other building-related experience (preferred)
- Ability to self-manage in a professional environment and take the initiative to get stuff done or try something new
- Humbly confident with an uncanny ability to quickly build trusting relationships, sell concepts at all levels of an organization, and manage multiple time-dependent tasks simultaneously
- Strong proficiency in developing and delivering formal presentations
- Located in or willing to relocate to central or northern Indiana
Responsibilities
- Conducts outreach, educates and assists contractors so they may effectively participate in and promote Indiana Michigan Power’s energy efficiency programs
- Develops, manages and strengthens relationships with contractors
- Develops and executes outreach strategies to recruit new contractors and retain current contractors
- Delivers sales and program training presentations to provide contractors with an understanding of the value of incentive programs
- Helps contractors identify qualifying projects and associated incentives
- Supports contractors’ application completion, submission, and follow up
- Answers program inquiries
- Trains and supports contractors to use new software programs
- Supports Program Managers in project development, tracking and analysis, and management of energy efficiency projects
- Edits and formats program documents and reports for grammar, typographical errors, and professional presentation
- Performs other duties as assigned
