Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • Prior experience working in Optics Manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate understanding of Thin Film Coating
  • Intermediate understanding of Test Equipment
  • Experience with Mil-Specs for Optical Coatings
  • Ability to read and follow procedures as outlined in the individual process group
  • Ability to document results and maintain appropriate paperwork
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide (equivalent to High School Math)
  • Ability to perform basic Manufacturing/Quality measurement techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of manufacturing computer software, word processing software, general reporting software/programs, including basic knowledge of MS Office
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance (U.S. citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, asylee/refugee, or equivalent export compliance eligibility under ITAR/EAR)

Responsibilities

  • Independently follow procedures in operating production equipment and performing processing steps within designated department
  • Accurately complete production documentation
  • Practice safe work habits and adhere to Materion's safety procedures & guidelines
  • Detect and report improper operation and/or faulty equipment, defective materials, and when a process is not within its parameters
  • Participate in investigations
  • Perform semi-routine equipment maintenance and upkeep
  • Work with process engineers to improve process(es) as requested
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, equipment, and areas where substrates and chemicals are prepared or stored
  • Record yields, efficiencies, and all other data
  • Listen and get clarification; respond well to questions from all levels of expertise
  • Make sound and well-informed decisions; perceive the impact and implications of decisions
