Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of previous manufacturing experience (food manufacturing preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, Good Manufacturing Practices, and general instructions
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to perform critical thinking to problem solve and resolve conflicts
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and team-oriented environment
  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistent with safety standards (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, and climb steps
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (6pm-6:30am)
  • Ability to squat, kneel, and bend frequently
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to flour, yeast, oils, peanut butter, and other materials
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds occasionally
  • Pass occupational physical test
  • Minimum 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without corrective lenses) and pass standard eye exam
  • Ability to work weekends on a 2-2-3 weekly schedule
  • Tolerance for varying temperatures (hot and cold), moderate to high noise levels, and working near/over/under machinery

Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality products in a safe and healthy manner
  • Perform routine tests to check product quality, record findings, and adjust equipment settings to maintain quality standards
  • Use computers to input and maintain accurate records and data, and HMI to adjust operational settings
  • Identify and troubleshoot machinery, process, and equipment issues and make corrections as needed
  • Perform sanitation and basic maintenance activities including cleaning, inspection, lubrication (CIL), clean-in-place (CIP), and clean-out-of-place (COP)
  • Cross train within department to gain/improve skills, knowledge, and demonstrate leadership
  • Operate material handling equipment such as walk behind stackers, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, and waves
  • Perform equipment changeovers and empty or replenish materials to keep production flowing
