Requirements

  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM/Simulation systems (e.g., CATIA, ProEngineer, Solidworks, MasterCam, Esprit, Siemens NX, Vericut)
  • Experience with CNC programming, including manual programming, macro programming, and simultaneous axis profiling
  • Ability to develop and maintain post-processors and machine digital twins
  • Knowledge of Lean Sigma projects and process improvements
  • Expertise in troubleshooting moderate to highly complex CNC programming and tooling problems
  • Capability to conduct machine run-offs and provide technical assistance to purchasing and suppliers
  • Experience with conceptual designs for fixtures and special cutting tools
  • Ability to function as an in-house expert on CAD/CAM/Simulation software and provide training
  • Willingness to work minimum 4 days a week onsite

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CAD/CAM/Simulation system, CLC methodology, CNC programs, tooling, and processes
  • Develop and maintain products/systems to support manufacturing and business needs
  • Initiate improvements in products/systems and automate processes to enhance safety, quality, schedule, performance, and reduce costs
  • Apply standard work, mentor others, and establish best practices
  • Design components or portions of systems and modify existing designs to improve products and facilitate manufacturing/field service
  • Gather information, perform studies/calculations, simulate, and prepare layouts/sketches for design proposals
  • Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning groups
  • Generate manufacturing processes, CNC programs, simulate in virtual environments, and develop closed-loop systems
  • Provide advanced support to manufacturing sites
  • Complete Lean Sigma projects and process improvements
  • Troubleshoot CNC programming and tooling problems on virtual environments and production floor, driving changes through process control systems
  • Develop and maintain set-up process sheets and partner with Manufacturing Engineers on production site support
  • Provide training on CAD/CAM/Simulation software and work with Engineering on CNC program generation including post-processors
  • Make changes to manufacturing tooling and CNC programs based on engineering drawing changes, documenting via process control system
  • Initiate and lead improvements in CNC programming techniques at an expert level
  • Make recommendations on acquisitions/upgrades for CNC programming, simulation tools, and machine interfaces
  • Create conceptual designs for fixtures and special cutting tools; participate in tool design reviews
