Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 0-2 years related experience
  • Strong problem solving skills, including finding root cause and implementing an effective countermeasure
  • Sufficient math skills to read and record detailed measurements
  • Sufficient communication skills to discuss quality issues and resolve conflict
  • Requires use of a computer and experience using Microsoft Office tools or equivalent
  • Ability to learn and convey the principles of lean manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, resolve, and implement a countermeasure for any quality issue that is impacting an internal or external customer
  • Inspect, audit, and test prototype, supplier, and production parts and completed products or processes for compliance with specifications and standards
  • Conduct inspection, audits, and reporting of non-compliance at all stages of production including prototype, pre-production, all assembly stages, and completed units for products and processes
  • Provide knowledge and application of standards for quality, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Develop, apply and support maintaining quality requirements
  • Develop, execute and analyze quality procedures, standards and measurements
  • Provide daily coordination of assigned area, including training
  • Utilize control charts and other quality tools to make improvement decisions
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas to determine quality and reliability standards
  • Inspect and test components, parts, and assembled products for workmanship, compliance with specifications and regulatory standards using techniques such as electronic and conventional measurement, observation, functional tests, and destructive tests
  • Conduct non-destructive tests of welding, fastened joints, and hydraulic oil
  • Evaluate data and write modifications of existing quality or production standards to maximize quality within limits of machine capability and cost
