Requirements

Familiarity with customer requirements in aerospace and defense industry
Knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) processes
Expertise in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Understanding of Corrective Action Request (CAR) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes
Ability to analyze quality procedures and systems for compliance
Skills in data collection, analysis, and performance metrics reporting
Leadership and team management capabilities, including coaching, accountability, and fostering team environment

Responsibilities

Lead the total plant Quality Assurance / Quality Control system, including receiving and in-process inspection, test, audit, repair activities, continuous improvement, product launch, supplier quality, and quality system compliance
Plan, coordinate, and direct the facility quality control program to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards
Act as focal point for inter-plant communication and plan development to assure cohesive Sonaca North America approach to quality system requirements
Ensure processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained
Promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization
Develop, collect, and report performance metrics to senior management, including defect and scrap data and corrective action status
Provide budgetary inputs for training and ongoing quality assurance activities
Establish systems for data collection and analysis to drive continuous improvement activities
Lead and monitor CAR and RCCA activities for systemic issues to ensure robust product and process improvements
Plan, lead, and measure process and voice of customer performance, quality system effectiveness, and adjust strategy/procedures as necessary
Lead proactive quality improvements through execution of APQP for flawless new product launches and manage quality deliverables for design changes
Analyze existing quality procedures and systems for compliance, develop revisions or new procedures
Oversee inspections of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products
Develop quality standards and protocols for quality assurance testing models
Formulate quality control objectives (e.g., defect reduction, operator certification) and coordinate with production management to maximize reliability and minimize costs
Communicate performance expectations, coach individuals and teams, hold accountable using reinforcement and disciplinary action within policy
Develop and facilitate a cohesive team environment
