Requirements

  • Experience managing import and export trade compliance in EMEA, particularly EU and UK
  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Logistics Manager, 3PL Operations Manager, Global Director) and external partners (e.g., customs brokers, logistics providers, Customs authorities)
  • Knowledge of trade regulations, customs compliance (classification, valuation, origin declarations, bonded warehouses, recordkeeping)
  • Leadership skills to manage and lead the EMEA Trade Compliance team
  • Strategic planning abilities to develop and implement trade compliance strategies aligned with global objectives
  • Budget forecasting and expense management experience
  • Monitoring and adapting to regulatory changes in EU, UK, and EMEA
  • Representation skills for industry forums, conferences, webinars, and networking

Responsibilities

  • Serve as operational point of contact and resource for EMEA trade operations
  • Collaborate with Global team to document and communicate factory compliance guidelines for EMEA importing countries
  • Develop and implement a cohesive EU and UK trade compliance strategy aligned with global objectives and corporate priorities
  • Collaborate with Trade Compliance Director to forecast budget and manage department expenses
  • Build positive working relationships with Customs authorities in countries where Brooks is the importer of record
  • Monitor regulatory landscape in EU, UK, and EMEA; communicate impacts and lead adaptation plans
  • Partner with global trade compliance leadership and regional teams for consistent standards, policies, and risk mitigation
  • Represent the company in industry and regulatory forums; attend trade conferences, webinars, seminars, and networking
  • Implement policies and processes to ensure compliance, mitigate risk, and optimize trade costs
  • Oversee customs compliance for imports/exports across EU and UK (classification, valuation, origin, bonded warehouses, recordkeeping)
  • Coordinate and foster relationships with customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders
  • Manage, educate, and enforce import/export trade compliance in EMEA
  • Achieve and report compliance performance benchmarks; communicate duty savings and regulatory changes
  • Set strategic goals for best-in-class Trade Compliance program and partnerships with Customs authorities
  • Partner with Logistics Manager and 3PL Operations Manager for world-class logistics and distribution
  • Lead EMEA Trade Compliance team for seamless execution of programs and initiatives
  • Collaborate with Global Director to develop regional strategy and drive operational excellence
