Kraken is seeking a Global Payroll Manager to oversee and manage payroll processing for multiple entities worldwide. This role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of international payroll regulations. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review global payroll runs using systems like Cloudpay/UKG OneView and EOR vendors.
  • Resolve payroll issues and errors by collaborating with business partners.
  • Partner with various stakeholders to enhance payroll processes.
  • Work independently and contribute effectively within internal account teams, aligning with regional HR sub-departments and other HR teams.
  • Stay current with international payroll regulations.
  • Act as a functional expert and primary contact for payroll-related escalations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external audits at the country level, coordinating payroll feedback and escalating to global leaders as needed.
  • Oversee relationships with external payroll providers, tracking performance and establishing KPIs for improvement.
  • Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations, journals, and accrual reports.
  • Represent the payroll function in ongoing projects.
  • Review and suggest process optimizations to ensure compliance with local rules and global processes.
  • Understand end-to-end payroll functions and their relation to company objectives.
  • Ensure and oversee compliance with statutory and SOX reporting and filing requirements.
  • Challenge existing processes and drive projects with a focus on new and improved ways of working.
  • Deliver on team targets and maintain, achieve, and improve SLAs, creating new plans as necessary.
  • Foster high team satisfaction, motivation, and transparency.
  • Ensure clear and timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills You Should HODL

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in a payroll/accounting environment.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in team management and coaching.
  • Proven experience in payroll, payroll tax, and compliance internationally (EMEA, APAC, Americas).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with start-up companies is preferred.
  • Experience with payroll/accounting technology.
