Requirements

Unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States
Preferred bachelor’s degree in relevant EHS program with 5+ years of EHS experience or a minimum 9+ years EHS experience at a chemical manufacturing facility with leadership responsibilities
Proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
Strong PC skills
Leadership competencies
High technical and analytical abilities to identify environmental, health and safety trends and act with minimum disruption and expense
Tact and diplomacy in dealing with government representatives, associates, contractors, customers, and the public
Previous interactions with local emergency responders (Fire Department, Hazmat, etc.)
Availability for periodic on-call duties
Preferred: Certifications in one or more applicable areas of environmental, health, and safety

Responsibilities

Direct the activities of the site environmental, health and safety group to provide an environmentally sound, safe and healthy work environment for site employees and the neighboring community
Act as an advisor to the Site Manager in all matters pertaining to environmental compliance, health and safety, including legal matters
Direct the implementation of federal, state, and local governmental policies and regulations in matters of environmental compliance, health and safety, and assure compliance
Administer the site Environmental, Health & Safety policies, evaluate work, and make recommendations to the Site Manager on hiring, promotions, and salaries of the EHS Specialist
Prepare and timely submit environmental, health and safety expenses, staffing, and capital budgets; ensure expenditures are appropriate, properly documented, and within budget
In conjunction with managers and supervisors, assist the Site Manager in setting site policies, practices, and procedures to safely and compliantly maximize profits
Serve as an active and engaged leader on the Site Leadership Team driving improved EHS performance and site culture; represent the “Zero Harm” program for the Site
Coordinate site security needs and emergency response efforts
Coordinate Ringwood site emergency response and evacuation plans
Ensure EHS management and HS direct reports actively participate in the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
Follow instructions and perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Assist other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals
Participate in and complete company-required training programs
Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company
