Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Driver's License

  • Ability to work specified hours, including Day/Evening/Weekend/Holiday shifts
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge, competency, and certification required by leadership for specialized skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and major component overhaul on facility structure, equipment, grounds, fixtures, refrigeration, air conditioning systems, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, boilers, and chillers
  • Operate, test, and inspect boilers and equipment in the facility complex
  • Perform building inspections, replace parts, clean, and oversee heating, plumbing, outdoor grounds, landscaping, and snow/ice removal to ensure a safe facility environment
  • Troubleshoot potential problems and perform maintenance on temperature controls, boiler operations, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Monitor, operate, inspect, repair, test, and clean equipment and related activities that provide steam or chilled water to air handling systems, sterilizers, etc., in accordance with facility policies, OSHA regulations, regulatory agency requirements, and manufacturer's instructions
  • Perform and manage preventative maintenance program for facility building, grounds, equipment, and vehicles; verify PM completion rates, inspect logs and records, and keep work areas neat and orderly
  • Respond to facility emergency codes, demonstrate understanding of emergency protocols, assist with/conduct/document drills (e.g., fire, emergency weather), participate in safety inspections and lock down procedures, inform leadership of safety concerns, make recommendations, and ensure proper use of PPE and safety policies
  • Remove equipment, trash, hazardous waste, recyclable materials, and dispose of confidential documents according to local, state, federal, and OSHA guidelines; inspect and maintain records of state/OSHA regulations and medical waste records
  • May perform additional tasks such as monitoring maintenance costs and budget control, patient transports, inventory, parts ordering, statistical data reporting, and other basic maintenance requests
