Requirements

Expert understanding of system controls logic and troubleshooting techniques
Ability to maintain and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical aspects of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including conveyors, sortation, robotics, or Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
Skills in controlling and adjusting positioning accuracy and timing
Proficiency in controlling and adjusting scanners, cameras, scales, and printer applicators
Capability to control, reset, repair, or replace adjustable components (belts, chains, cables) and wearing components (guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys)
Experience cleaning, lubricating, and calibrating equipment
Knowledge to install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components (photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders)
Ability to troubleshoot PLC programs, components (CPU backplanes, I/O boards, counters, modules, devices), field buses (ASI, Profibus, DeviceNet), and communications modules (Ethernet)
Skills to configure and adjust PLC parameters and component setup
Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures and fix systemic issues using observation and diagnostic tools
Capacity to act as a technical trainer, sharing knowledge with maintenance technicians and trainees
Experience working with preventive and predictive maintenance processes, rapidly troubleshooting breakdowns, and restoring equipment
Ability to handle multiple projects with a sense of urgency and collaborate across teams

Responsibilities

Maintain high equipment availability rates using preventive and predictive maintenance processes
Rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and restore equipment to service
Work with other maintenance technicians to solve difficult problems
Validate quality of work for outside specialty contractors
Collaborate with building leaders to optimize material handling equipment
Handle multiple projects with a sense of urgency
Perform Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures and fix systemic issues
Act as technical subject matter expert on shift, including training maintenance technicians and trainees
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical aspects of MHE (conveyors, sortation, robotics, ASRS)
Control and adjust positioning accuracy and timing
Control and adjust scanners, cameras, scales, and printer applicators
Control, reset, repair, or replace adjustable and wearing components
Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components
