Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of facility, maintenance and/or automotive mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application, or graduate of an Industrial Maintenance training program
  • Ability to stand/walk continuously throughout shift
  • Ability to lift/carry frequently (1-10 lbs), occasionally as required with assistance (up to 35-50 lbs.)
  • Ability to frequently bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (2-3 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp
  • Ability to work continuously around moving machinery, in a damp, slippery and cold environment (below 40°F), in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally at unprotected heights, around dead birds and strong chicken odor, and in tight or confined spaces
  • Max of two (2) previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire, with a 90-day (3 months) waiting period

Responsibilities

  • Set up equipment or machines
  • Adjust production machines and related equipment according to maintenance schedule, manufacturer's service manuals, and production tolerances
  • Inspect machines and troubleshoot to detect potential malfunctions
  • Replace repaired parts or install new parts to restore machine to operating condition
  • Lubricate grease fittings and moving parts of machines and perform other preventive maintenance requirements as directed by supervisors
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance and work orders in a timely manner
  • Work within safety guidelines at all times
  • Other duties as assigned
