Requirements

Ability to weld using GTAW, SMAW, and GMAW processes (primarily stainless steel GTAW)
Ability to design, read, and interpret blueprints including rough drafts
Ability to use hand tools and trade-type tools
Able to identify industry standard parts
Able to work independently or as a team in a safe and efficient manner
Willingness to work overtime
Computer skills; general knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
Minimum of 1 year of facility, maintenance, and/or automotive mechanic work experience (documented in work history) or graduate of an Industrial Maintenance training program
Physical ability to stand/walk continuously (at least 8 hours a day), lift/carry frequently (1-10 lbs.) and occasionally (up to 35-50 lbs.), grasp frequently (3-4 hours a day), and occasionally bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder, crouch, kneel, push/pull
Ability to work in environment with continuous exposure to moving machinery, temperature/humidity changes, dust, fumes, occasionally on ladders at unprotected heights, around dead birds, and strong chicken odor

Responsibilities

Fabricate new parts and repair existing systems using various welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW) on ferrous materials
Communicate equipment malfunctions, corrective actions taken, and quality problems through appropriate departmental channels
Perform essential duties within guidelines of company GMP’s, HAACP, PSM Program, Company Policies, and Safety Programs (LOTO)
Assist maintenance team members on rebuilds, installs, and general projects throughout the facility
Complete and maintain all required paperwork, reports, and departmental forms
Perform preventive maintenance checks and inspections on assigned equipment, report findings to supervisor, and take appropriate action
Assist in covering the floor with maintenance associates when required
