Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced/Expert skill level in part, turn OD’s, turn ID’s, Grinding and burnishing
  • Experience operating Manual machines as well as CNC machines
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry
  • Familiarity with Gas turbine repair (HSPT, GE10’s, Fr3, Fr5, Fr6, and F7)
  • Rotor and component machining experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supporting safety culture and driving a safe to start mindset
  • Aligning large rotors, gas components, and parts within tight tolerances
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts
  • Programming CNC lathes, VTL’s, and milling machines
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD & T)
  • Calculating and setting controls for machining operations
  • Starting and observing machine operation to detect malfunctions
  • Selecting, aligning, and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials
  • Supporting Rotor shop and Machine shop based on customer needs, including Steam rotors, Gas rotors, Cases, Gas components, Aero components, and Value rack repairs
