Requirements
- High School or Vocational School Diploma and/or GED required
- 0-2 years of related production experience in a manufacturing environment
- Basic math skills required to perform necessary job functions
- Understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers)
- Good communication skills including the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude (with some machining experience a plus)
- Capable of obtaining a fork truck license and/or overhead crane license
- Must obtain a lockout/tagout certification
- Export compliance eligibility (U.S. citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, asylee/refugee, or approved for export license)
Responsibilities
- Sands or grinds rolled materials to remove surface imperfections and meet product specifications (including Class 1 requirements)
- Sets up and operates leveling equipment
- Sets up and operates shears to ensure final product meets required dimensional specs
- Sets up and operates cleaning equipment for all intermediate and finish products
- Follows good safety practices, complies with PPE requirements, and follows environmental policies
- Understands specifications and uses measuring instruments (with assistance)
- Recognizes problems and seeks assistance to resolve them
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor
- Maintains work area in a clean and orderly way and follows 5S standard work practices
