Requirements

Candidates must hold an MS degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, and possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with at least 2 years dedicated to deploying and maintaining AI/ML projects. Advanced programming skills in languages like Python are required, along with proficiency in using AWS machine learning services such as SageMaker for model pipeline development and deployment. Experience with AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure as code and data processing technologies like Apache Spark, AWS Glue, and Hadoop is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Machine Learning Engineer will lead engineering design and deployment of complex data and model pipelines, establishing best practices and driving innovation in end-to-end deployment and automation. They will integrate and optimize existing pipelines, identify and diagnose data inconsistencies, and apply expert knowledge of experimental methodologies and machine learning concepts to create self-running AI systems. The role involves partnering with data science teams to understand data requirements, performing data discovery, and driving best practices in data discovery techniques. Additionally, the engineer will write model monitoring scripts, diagnose root causes of model monitoring alerts, and coordinate responses to these alerts. They will also demonstrate strategic thinking in cloud-based architectures and platforms to deliver optimized ML models at scale, drive engineering innovation, and serve as a subject matter expert for cross-functional teams and strategic initiatives.
