Responsibilities

  • Act as subject matter expert and advisor to leadership on logistics security risks
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments in warehousing, rail, and trucking to identify vulnerabilities
  • Map security risk areas across the end-to-end supply chain
  • Develop strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and improve policies/infrastructure
  • Translate risk analysis into executive reports and presentations
  • Design and implement loss prevention and supply chain security programs
  • Collaborate with operations, transportation, and warehouse teams to embed risk strategies
  • Evaluate and update emergency response and recovery plans for cargo theft/high-risk shipments
  • Oversee investigations into theft, fraud, and loss (data collection, documentation, root cause, recovery)
  • Partner with law enforcement, rail providers, insurers, and consortiums for prevention and response
  • Lead crisis response coordination during security incidents
  • Oversee GPS, surveillance, and tracking tools for effectiveness
  • Monitor high-risk activities (drayage, intermodal, cross-docking, long-haul) for security gaps
  • Analyze theft/loss trends and data for continuous improvement
  • Ensure adherence to transportation/logistics security regulations
  • Develop and deliver staff training on security awareness and prevention
  • Serve as internal consultant for compliance planning and process design
  • Produce reports on risk assessments, incidents, loss metrics, and mitigation effectiveness
  • Audit freight routing and shipment data for fraud/theft indicators
  • Present findings to leadership
