Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 1+ year of safe commercial driving experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class B (Class A preferred)
  • Current DOT Medical Certification and compliance with all DOT regulations
  • Ability to read and understand English
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, climb, twist, stand, sit/drive for extended periods, and lift 60-100 lbs (frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, infrequent up to 80 lbs)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb on/off truck, and perform frequent bending, squatting, pushing, pulling
  • Operate vehicle in various traffic and weather conditions
  • Proven ability to communicate articulately and perform simple arithmetic (experience handling money preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver merchandise to customers according to pre-determined route within expected time parameters
  • Unload correct merchandise, check orders, and note any corrections
  • Complete all assigned reports and paperwork at end of day
  • Communicate with Manager any system or documentation problems identified
  • Pick up returned merchandise per return authorization
  • Comply with all DOT safety and documentation regulations
  • Perform safety and housekeeping duties per Edward Don & Company and OSHA standards
  • Effectively communicate with customers and all levels of staff
  • Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels, cases per error goals, and customer relations standards
  • Plan and organize work activities independently
  • Maintain knowledge of product and inventory control techniques
  • Maintain inter-department communications on routing, safety, and customer relations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
