High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the Line Mechanic position, including skillful pole climbing with Lineman’s climbers
Ability to direct the work of others when assigned
At least one year of experience as a Line Mechanic
Must be able to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of other co-workers
Must be available to perform overtime and emergency work as required and live within one hour of the reporting location

Responsibilities

Perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system
Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment
Work aloft on electric utility poles and pad mounted structures
Rubber gloving of high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV
Be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour during periods of trouble call assignment
Direct the work of other co-workers
