Responsibilities

  • Secure and remove a ship’s dock lines at port
  • Catch and throw heaving lines from ship’s docking
  • Pull mooring lines down the dock and secure to bollards, and remove mooring lines from bollards
  • Perform dock inspections prior to vessel arrival
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • (At higher levels 3 & 4) Train and get approval to operate pedestal crane to move cargo and personnel to/from vessel
