Requirements

8+ years construction experience
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish
Skilled at negotiating and developing relationships with owners and subcontractors
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and evaluate a team; minimum 4 years supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of electrical and fire alarm commercial construction
Knowledge of industry, state, and local code requirements
Ability to read and interpret all contract drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Security, Architectural)
Ability to navigate active job sites (uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, hoists); physically demanding work requiring full range of motion (bending, kneeling, reaching)
Comfortable lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally
Effective communication and visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work
Comfortable with prolonged sitting for office tasks (computer work, document review, meetings)

Responsibilities

Manage, direct, and coordinate all aspects of project life cycle for multiple simultaneous projects (scope, schedule, procurement, budget, client relations, project management, contract administration)
Communicate with project stakeholders, manage risk, and monitor progress against schedule
Create project plans outlining tasks, timelines, and resources
Supervise contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, schedule, and close out
Maintain thorough knowledge of major project issues/priorities; prepare and submit monthly job status reports
Understand company contracts and all parties involved
Secure required permits and verify subcontractor insurance
Schedule and facilitate project meetings to coordinate work
Supervise and manage project team; set goals and evaluate performance
Train and develop direct reports via on-the-job, internal, and external opportunities
Provide general administrative and technical leadership
Maintain project records and monitor correspondence
Develop/maintain positive relationships with owner and engineering firm counterparts
Participate in proposals and presentations
Act as primary contact with fire alarm vendor
