Requirements

  • Interest in metal fabricating and welding within a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Join the Welding Fabrication Team at the Peterborough facility
  • Work from detailed technical drawings to cut, shape, and weld metal plates to precise specifications
  • Use tools such as plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches, guillotines, and welding machines (MIG, TIG, and MMA)
  • Operate heavy machinery (description cuts off, but implied in role)
  • Contribute to the fabrication and assembly of metal components for manufacturing equipment and prototype items for research and development projects
  • Combine on-the-job training with college-based learning (at least 20% of working hours) to achieve Level 3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Metal Fabricator standard
  • Embed in a team to solve real-world problems from day one
