Requirements

  • Completed university degree in law (state examination) and ideally a license as a fully qualified lawyer
  • Additional qualifications in international business law are an advantage
  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable position, ideally in an international company or a renowned law firm
  • Experience of working with multinational teams and advising senior executives
  • Initial years of general legal experience plus relevant expertise in supporting GTM functions
  • Sound knowledge of German and international commercial law, including contract law, data protection law and compliance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to explain complex legal issues in an understandable way and develop pragmatic solutions
  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English is mandatory; other language skills are an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and advising the management and specialist departments on all legal issues, particularly in the areas of contract law, commercial law and data protection law
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating national and international contracts, including supply, distribution, service and license agreements
  • Identifying and assessing legal risks and developing and implementing strategies to minimize risks
  • Assisting in the handling and resolution of legal disputes, including coordinating outside counsel and representing the company in legal proceedings
  • Providing advice and support in data protection, in particular with regard to compliance with GDPR and other data protection regulations
  • Conducting internal training on legal topics to promote awareness of legal risks and best practices within the company
  • Coordinating and cooperating with the international subsidiaries and sister companies to ensure a uniform legal strategy
