Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in the banking & finance, capital markets, or structured finance practice of a top-tier law firm
  • Proven track record as a key lawyer on multiple closed debt financing transactions, particularly cross-border deals involving asset-backed securities, warehouse facilities, or securitizations
  • Demonstrated success in leading negotiations and managing transaction closings (closing checklists and signing process) for complex financial agreements in both English and Spanish
  • Ideally has direct experience advising banks or other regulated financial entities on financing transactions or regulatory capital
  • Ideally understands the specific legal and compliance constraints of operating as a regulated entity
  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of cross-border financial and structured transactions

Responsibilities

  • Close a growing pipeline of new or renewed debt facilities independently managing negotiations with local and international lenders to secure the capital needed for our loan book growth targets
  • Reduce the average closing time for standard debt facilities by developing and implementing standardized legal templates, negotiation playbooks, and improving internal stakeholder alignment processes
  • Support the structuring and closing of at least one new, diversified funding structure (e.g., securitization, private placement), expanding our funding sources beyond traditional warehouse facilities
  • Become a key legal point of contact and a trusted advisor for the Capital Markets team, demonstrating deep subject matter expertise and proactive problem-solving in all funding transactions, while maintaining a direct communication channel with the Senior Legal Capital Markets Manager
