Minimum qualifications include 3+ years of experience administering leave of absence programs with a multi-state employer, in-depth knowledge of FMLA, ADA, CFRA, PDL, and other leave laws, direct experience managing third-party leave administrators and insurance carriers (STD, LTD), proven track record ensuring compliance with HIPAA and regulations, and hands-on experience processing complex leave cases.
A typical day involves partnering with third-party administrators to oversee leave requests, coordinating STD/LTD claims, serving as the main point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring compliance, collaborating with HR teams, analyzing leave trends, and educating on policies.
Strong candidates have the minimum qualifications plus preferred skills like proficiency with HRIS systems such as Workday, experience reconciling leave with payroll and benefits, and demonstrated ability to analyze leave data and metrics.
